Any possible embarrassment that might have come from bringing my father to the Roots Jam Session on Wednesday was canceled out by the awesome photos (and accidental videos) he took!

I have been waiting to go to this since I first heard about it. It was an incredible night. If anyone has the names of the people who performed with the Roots at the 4/9 show please leave comments below. ?uestlove had a 6AM flight and it looked like he was getting frustrated with the band a bit but they all still killed it.
I’ve already convinced two other people to check this out. Now it is your turn.

Hip-Hop Universal Are you part of this?

OK, so it’s clear Jay-Z can’t hold a note to save his life… This video is interesting though because I guess one of the Gallagher brothers from Oasis talked some shit about having Hip-Hop at the 2008 Glastonbury Festival so this is Jay-Z’s tongue-in-cheek response.

I saw K’Naan in concert a few years ago at BB Kings. I think that was the concert where I got Talib’s autograph… But he was there, so was Pharoahe Monch, Mos Def, Jean Grae. I think it was in December of 08. That was a great concert! I think this is also the concert where Kal Penn (Kumar of Harold and Kumar) was in the audience.

Long story short K’Naan got on stage and tore it UP! His song Soobax was incredible to hear live and my brothers and I have been diggin on him since. He released a new album last week and I can’t wait to listen. You should check it out.
